Can I create a firewall access control list to limit incoming LDAP connections to a particular source IP address?

Yes. To use LDAP sync, you will need to ensure your firewall permits access from the Email Security data centers to your LDAP server.

Open one of these LDAP ports, based on your use of SSL (recommended) or non-SSL SSL:

SSL: Port 636
Non-SSL: Port 389

Permit these server IP addresses Email Security Data Center Network Ranges:

192.162.216.0/22 (192.162.216.0-192.162.219.255)

Can I create a firewall access control list to limit incoming SMTP connections to a particular source IP address (for cloaking)?

To ensure spammers cannot bypass our system and deliver mail directly to your server, we recommend you lock down your network so that your mailserver is only able to receive SMTP connections from our platform. To ensure that this is achieved, please configure your firewall or mail server to only accept connections on port 25 from only the IP ranges below:

Recommended - For maximum redundancy, allow access from all of our US ranges:

Subnet IP Subnet Mask Net Mask IP Range
208.70.128.0 255.255.248.0 /21 208.70.128.0 - 208.70.135.255
72.35.12.0 255.255.255.0 /24 72.35.12.0 - 72.35.12.255
72.35.23.0 255.255.255.0 /24 72.35.23.0 - 72.35.23.255

What do I need to configure prior to changing my MX records:

1 - Set up users & aliases (either manually or via LDAP)
2 - Provide the mail server's address (IP address or DNS A-Record)
3 - Configure whitelist or blacklists as desired

Once I have my mail server and users configured in the administrative control panel, what will I change my MX records to so that mail is routed through the filters?

domainname-com.mx1-us.mailanyone.net
domainname-com.mx2-us.mailanyone.net
domainname-com.mx3-us.mailanyone.net

NOTE: REPLACE DOMAINNAME-COM WITH YOUR DOMAIN NAME AND ENSURE THAT YOU USE A "DASH" BETWEEN YOUR DOMAIN NAME AND ITS EXTENSION.

For example, if your domain name is wesellstuff.com your mx records should look like:

wesellstuff-com.mx1-us.mailanyone.net...

If your domain name is wesellstuff.net your mx records should look like:

wesellstuff-net.mx1-us.mailanyone.net

If you are a long-time Datatune Antispam customer, the following format is still supported as a legacy configuration--but if you're setting up records for the first time use the format above:

domainname-com.mx1.mx25.net
domainname-com.mx2.mx25.net
domainname-com.mx3.mx25.net
domainname-com.mx4.mx25.net

If I want to route outbound traffic from my network through the antispam filter (to get statistics, reports, logging, and to prevent my mail server's IP address from being blacklisted) where should I route my SMTP traffic?

domainname-com.outbound1-us-manyanyone.net
domainname-com.outbound1-us-manyanyone.net
domainname-com.outbound1-us-manyanyone.net

NOTE: REPLACE DOMAINNAME-COM WITH YOUR DOMAIN NAME AND ENSURE THAT YOU USE A "DASH" BETWEEN YOUR DOMAIN NAME AND ITS EXTENSION (SEE ABOVE)

If I'm using the mail filters for outbound mail filtering what should my SFP record look like?

We encourage setting up an SPF text record in your domains DNS which designates our SMTP mail servers as authorized servers to send on behalf of your domain. Please note that if you do not already have an SPF text record you will need to add in IP's and domains that encompass ALL of the mail servers that you use to send mail from.

v=spf1 include:spf.mailanyone.net -all

Is there a way to view mail headers from within UI?

The UI doesn't currently support the viewing of mail headers, but troubleshooting can easily be accomplished by reviewing inbound mail via "Log Discovery" in the control panel.

What happens to mail sent to my domain if my mail server or Internet connection become unavailable?

Mail will be queued/buffered for up to 5 days and relayed to your mail server once it comes back online.

Is there a way to know if mail is being queued/buffered?

There is no indicator within the admin console that mail is being queued/buffered, but you may run the domain "test config" function (Domains > [click domain name] > Test Config) at any time which will indicate server availability from the perspective of the mail filters. If the filtering servers are unable to connect with your mail server, any mail recieved for this domain by the filtering servers will be buffered.

How do I send all of my users a welcome notifications?

You may send a bulk notifications to all of your users from within the admin console by selecting: Groups > Default > Directory Sync > Settings > Send Welcome Message

You may send individual notification to a particular user on demand from within the admin console by selecting: Users > [select user] > Resend Welcome

Can I tell the LDAP sync to ignore a particular user?

No. If you want to "hide" users from the LDAP sync you must put them higher into the LDAP tree on the AD server (or lower in the tree and deselect the "Search SubTree" checkbox within the LDAP config).

Do you pay a license for blocked users?

Yes. All configured users are considered licensed users.

How can I delete LDAP users?

Either remove them from the LDAP/AD tree or change the domain/group's "user management" from "LDAP" to "Console" (manual user managment) and manually delete them from list of users (although they will come back if they exist in your LDAP config and you switch back to LDAP user management and perform another sync).

If you enable LDAP welcome messages, will it retroactively send messages to those it hasn't already sent a welcome message to?

No. It will only send a welcome message to new users discovered during subsiquent syncs.

Is there an additional licensing fee for alias domains and user aliases?

No. User and domain aliases are provided at no additional charge.

What has been done on the filtering-side to ensure reliability and resiliency?

N+1 mirrored data centers
Advanced system monitoring
24x7x365 Emergency support available
SAS70 / SSAE16 Certified datacenters
100% up-time

Can I rebrand the interface and quarantine report?

Report and UI customization options are available for organizations exceeding 1000 licensed users.

How do I report filtering issues?

Spam that slips through (false negatives) can be reported to [email protected]
Misclassified genuine messages (false positives) can be reported to [email protected]

How is billing managed?

You are billed for Licensed Users on the first day of each month with no consideration giving to fluctuations in the user-count throughout the month.

When viewing the mail transaction logs I see a lot of abbreviations. What do these mean?
